File Types Supported

Using Microsoft's "iFilter" technology which is provided with Windows, FileHawk is able to index over 260 file types to ensure that you can find the files that you need. This important feature sets FileHawk apart from other desktop search software that does not have the wide ability to index and find your files. FileHawk will search not only your desktop, but any removable device that can be recognized by Windows such such as CD and DVDs, thumb drives, memory keys, flash disks, SD cards, CF cards, Memory Stick cards, removable USB hard disk drives, remote networked drives and much more.

You may find that some file types are not indexed in FileHawk. By using "iFilter", this allows third-party developers to create plug-ins that enable new file type indexing.
